Namo Bharat Train to Pass Under Badshahpur Drain in Gurugram: Station Locations and Infrastructure Plans

The Namo Bharat Train, a key part of India’s ambitious Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), is set to redefine regional connectivity between Delhi, Gurugram, and Rewari. In Gurugram, the route will run beneath the Badshahpur Drain, requiring careful planning for station locations and infrastructure development.
Covering a 15.18 km stretch through Gurugram, the Namo Bharat Train will have approximately 9.3 km of underground tracks. Key stations along this corridor include:
Cyber City: A major interchange station linking the Namo Bharat Train with the existing Metro and Rapid Metro systems.
IFFCO Chowk: Strategically located on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, offering convenient access to major business districts.
Rajeev Chowk: Another interchange hub, connecting future metro lines running from Bhondsi to the Railway Station.
Hero Honda Chowk: Positioned to serve commuters from Old Gurugram.
Khedki Daula: A key junction connecting to proposed metro lines between Sector 56 and Panchgaon.
Manesar: Serving both the industrial and residential sectors of the Manesar region.
Panchgaon: Catering to the rapidly developing residential and commercial areas.
Bilaspur Chowk: Providing connectivity to the Bilaspur area and access to the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.
Dharuhera: The final station in Haryana, enabling smooth travel towards Rewari.
Notably, four of these stations—Rajeev Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Khedki Daula, and Manesar—will be constructed underground to minimize land acquisition and reduce environmental impact.
A dedicated maintenance depot will be established in Sector 37, Gurugram, playing a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep, repair, and operational efficiency of the train services.
Passing under the Badshahpur Drain poses unique engineering challenges. Advanced tunneling methods and structural reinforcements will be used to protect both the railway infrastructure and the existing drainage system. Comprehensive environmental assessments and mitigation strategies are being implemented to limit ecological disruption.
The Namo Bharat Train promises to significantly improve urban mobility in Gurugram by offering a fast, reliable, and integrated transit solution. With well-planned station locations and seamless connectivity to current and future transport systems, the project is expected to boost economic activity and enhance the daily commute for residents.
